Community Centre | The Heathcote Valley Community Centre is located at 45 Bridle Path Road.
Completed at the end of 2016, this facility is owned by the Christchurch City Council and operated by the Heathcote Valley Community Association under a Memorandum of Understanding.

Heathcote Community Sports Club | During the summer months we play Lawn Bowls on Tuesday evenings from 6:30 to 8:00pm and from 2:00pm on Sunday afternoons. Petanque is played on Sunday mornings from 10am to 12 noon. All the necessary equipment is available to borrow. We are very much a social club and do not compete in interclub competitions. The club has plenty of bowls that you can use if you want to come and give it a try. We welcome new members and casual players. Coaching is freely given if you have not played before. During the winter months Indoor Bowls and Petanque (weather permitting) are played. There is also an option to play table tennis. The clubrooms provide excellent facilities, which can be hired for functions or regular use by various groups | The Heathcote Community Sports Club can be found down the driveway that turns off Bridle Path Road between the School and the Community Centre. Heathcote Cricket Club | Heathcote Cricket Club has 10 adult teams, including a women’s side, and seven junior teams in the Christchurch Metropolitan Cricket Association competitions. As such, we cater for all ages and abilities. As well as enjoying success on the field, Heathcote Cricket Club is a social and community hub. Heathcote Valley Community Association | The Heathcote Valley Community Association (HVCA) supports and promotes our community. Its core business is to provide representation, acting as an important link between the elected members on the City Council and the Community Board, and the community. The HVCA facilitates input into important Council policies by drawing local resident’s attention to key issues, giving opportunities to connect and engage with our community. The HVCA usually meets on the first Thursday of the month. Heathcote Valley Community Magazine | The Heathcote Valley Community Magazine is published quarterly. It contains a variety of topical articles about life in Heathcote Valley.
Print copies of the magazine are distributed to local letter boxes and an email version is sent out to members of the Heathcote Valley Google Group.
Local residents are invited to contribute articles to the magazine.

Heathcote Village Community Google Group | The Heathcote Village Community Google Group is an electronic mailing list that distributes messages about happenings in the wider Heathcote Valley area, and other matters of local concern. Google Groups is a free service provided by the famous Google search engine company and supplies a very effective means of distributing information to a group of recipients. Heathcote Valley Riding School | Heathcote Valley Riding School has been operating for over 30 years in Heathcote Valley on what was originally an old dairy farm site. The Riding School has various sized horses and ponies, with various levels of skills therefore suitable for anyone, whether just wanting to start with a farm ride and begin to learn the skills of riding, to then be able to join in regular group lessons; through to more experienced, and also private lessons, or to simply hack out on a farm ride for a leisurely stroll around the lake at Ferrymead and the surrounds in the valley. | Ph (03 )384 1971

Te Tihi o Kahukura | Te Kura o Te Tihi o Kahukura / Heathcote Valley School is nestled into the base of the Port Hills, directly at the feet of Castle Rock (Te Tihi o Kahukura). Approximately 250 children enjoy learning in our large whanau/family atmosphere. The TALL (Teaching and Learning for Life) Learner values, are central to Teaching and Learning at Heathcote Valley School. Heathcote Volunteer Library | Heathcote Valley Community Library is run by local volunteers and provides a library service to the residents of the Heathcote, Horotane, Avoca Valleys and Mount Pleasant. Its catalogue includes children’s, teen and adult books that can be borrowed for up to three weeks at a time. Heathcote Valley Community Library operates independently of Christchurch City Libraries and has its own membership requirements and loan periods. Heathcote Valley Mountain Biking | A group of keen Heathcote Valley mountain bikers have set up an mtb skills park in the valley. The plan is to develop a fun safe place where riders of all ages and abilities can meet and play. The trails and features allow people to progress their skills. Conservation planting, signage and seating are also part of plan. Work is being completed by a bunch of volunteers. | Location:

Radio Ferrymead | Located in the Ferrymead Heritage Park in Christchurch, New Zealand. Radio Ferrymead broadcasts a variety of music spanning five decades, from the 1940s to the 1990s, on 1413AM.It is the only station in Christchurch that plays vinyl LPs and 45s, along with 78 rpm recordings and CDs. It is a rare resource for any person or group interested in learning more about New Zealand’s music history and seeing an earlier radio station at work, one based on an era when the AM band was the only frequency of radio in New Zealand.
